My Superbowl Proposition Bet Picks
As promised earlier in the week, I am back with some proposition bet picks. But first I gotta tell ya, they are tough this year. I wonder if the books have been getting beat on these as of late, because the spreads on most of the props are ridiculous - rendering them pure sucker plays. That being said, let’s root around in the Bodog props and try and find some reasonable wagers.
Prop Bet #1:
If the Patriots win, will Bob Kraft mention the 72 Dolphins during the Trophy Presentation?
Yes -135
No - Even
My pick: No - at even money this seems like a good bet. It would be a bit classless to mention them and I don’t see Kraft (or anyone on the Patriots organization) stooping that low.
Prop Bet #2:
Will either team convert a 4th down attempt?
Yes -220
No +180
My Pick: No. The spread is a bit wide but I like the +180. The Patriots don’t have many fourth down situations on offense.
Prop Bet #3:
Which Super Bowl commercial will have a higher rating on USA Today’s annual Ad Meter?
Budweiser 2/3
Go Daddy.com 3/1
Pepsi 6/1
McDonald’s 9/1
Victoria Secret 8/1
Other 2/1
My Pick: Other getting 2-1 odds. Superbowl commercials have been getting worse over the years, not better. Especially the Bud ads. Go Daddy’s are a joke. This environment is ripe for a surprising newcomer to take the honors and I like the odds.
Prop Bet #4:
How Many Times will Joe Buck mention Peyton Manning’s name during the Broadcast?
Over 5.5 -125
Under 5.5 -115
My Pick: Under. Again betting on somebody showing a bit of class. Might be a mistake in this day and age!
