Best Final Four Value Bet
Wow, all number one seeds in the final four for the first time in history! That’s really something. Makes a bigger accounting chore for whoever is running the office pool, that’s for sure. Every year a lot of people choose that scenario in their brackets - but this is the first time it has ever happened. So most of the pools will still be hotly contested. Value players like me find themselves on the sidelines now. Let’s see if we can fix that.
But before we do, one last little fantasy about the final shot of the Kansas/Davidson game going in and allowing me to cash my Field bet at a huge profit. Yeah, I like that one. Oh well, time to move on.
Tradesports has North Carolina bid at 34 currently. Memphis is at 24 and the other two are sitting at 20. So where’s the value? Well if you think like I do then you figure any of these teams could win and they all have an equal chance. That means they should all be worth 25. So you could buy UCLA and/or Kansas at 20 and have an overlay if that theory is correct.
But there is a better alternative. Those two teams are -5 off where they should be so that’s only five points of overlay for those wagers. Instead you can simply sell NC at 34 and pick up 9 points of overlay. Then you have both those teams working for you anyway. And that’s what I am off to do!
