Tips for Betting Pre-season NFL

Posted on 21 Aug by admin | No Comments

Don’t look now but we are right smack in the middle of pre-season NFL football. Most smart sports bettors avoid wagering on these games like the plague, but for a really savvy player there is value to be found. And it doesn’t require any more inside knowledge than you can find reading the major sports websites and watching Sportscenter. The most important thing is understanding the situation; that is, knowing which teams don’t care about winning the game. That’s the key.

The truth is, most teams do care about winning because it’s good for team morale. So you need to concentrate on finding the relatively few matchups where one team doesn’t care about winning. Ironically, it’s usually one of the better teams that fits this bill. They aren’t too worried about winning all their pre-season games because they already know they are a top NFL team. If their starters have been getting a lot of time in past games and they have been winning, you can look for that team to give their second string a good workout while no longer risking injuries to their starters.

This is especially true as you get to the latter part of the preseason - specifically, right now. Look to fade the juggernauts this week, especially ones that have been winning and have a solid winning lineup with no recent changes. Note that this specifically leaves out the Jets! While it’s never a great idea to bet against Brett Favre when he’s fired up about something, the Jets are out to make a statement in the preseason this year and should not be bet against (that doesn’t necessarily mean to bet on them either).

Another good preseason tip is to lean towards underdogs that are getting a half-point more than a key football number. That means the 3.5, 4.5, 7.5, and 10.5 dogs are generally good candidates to bet on. And it just so happens that the strong teams who no longer care about winning in the preseason will often be favorites by one of those numbers! Nice how this all comes together, huh?

Late Season Baseball Futures

Posted on 18 Aug by admin | No Comments

About this time of year the futures wagers in Major League Baseball start tightening up. It becomes more difficult to find value with six weeks left in the season. Hopefully you are riding some early and mid-season positions well into profitability. If not, this is just about your last chance to finagle a decent position on an MLB division contract. There are a few divisions still up for grabs. As usual, the best bets are fading the leaders and backing some longshots who are still mathematically in the hunt.

It’s been a weird season. The Yankees climbed out of the seller showing great promise only to completely fall apart in the last couple of weeks. If you are one of the many sports bettors who have not been sold on the Devil Rays and have been selling them all season, you are starting to worry right about now. With the Yankees hitting the wall and Manny gone from the Red Sox lineup, it isn’t so far-fetched any more that they could win the division. Interesting as this situation is, the sports bettor must look to other divisions to find value. In fact the whole American League has dried up as far as decent division-winner bets goes.

Looking to the National League, the best pennant race is in the East. The Mets are only two games in first but are selling in the low 60’s on Tradesports. That means selling this contract is a wager offering 2-1 odds that they blow it. Seeing as both the Marlins and Phili are within 5 games of them still, that might be a decent bet. Please note that simply betting on Phili to win gives you the same odds, but by selling the Mets you also have Florida working for you - which at 14-1 odds coming from 4.5 games back to take the division isn’t a bad bet either (assuming you can buy them around 7).

The other interesting development is in the NL West. While the Dodgers and the Cardinals are tied for first, the Tradesports contract price has Arizona at around 45 and L.A. at 55. Why? In a word: Manny. That guy has the Dodgers contracts all hyped up - and as you know, winning sports bettors sell the hype. Take the Diamondbacks to win the division and enjoy a small edge.

BetonMarkets Systems

Posted on 14 Apr by admin | No Comments

Here are 6 or 7 terrific systems for beating BetonMarkets, the top financial betting site on the internet. Whether you fancy Forex, stock index futures, or individual stocks there is something here for you. Whether you are a daytrader or want to hold good positions for months, we got you covered. BetonMarkets is the perfect training ground for aspiring traders and speculators who are looking to get an edge by using a slightly different trading vehicle. By making financial bets as opposed to opening trades you are opening yourself to learning unique strategies that regular traders simply don’t have.

The ebook Beat Betonmarkets teaches six specific trading systems that have been tweaked for the BOM wagering platform. In addition, it teaches a killer after hours forex strategy for the EUR.USD pair, so that’s really seven systems total. Rather than just show a few chart setups, this book teaches from a theory standpoint as well so you really understand what makes it all work.

That really helps with the last chapter of the book which is all about how to take the BetonMarkets systems and philosophies that you have learned and adjust them for trading at brokerage accounts in the real world. This is a very important chapter because the goal of the book is to teach you to be a winning trader, starting with a small BOM account. The author advises making the move after you have built up a $10,000 account - which should only take a few of years even starting with very little.

Beat BetonMarkets 2007 starts off by showing how almost everybody on this site is losing, points out the reasons why, and shows you what you must do to design a system which wins. It then takes this concept and flows into the specific trading systems which are built upon that solid foundation. There is also quite a bit about proper position sizing, a critical component that most BOM players ignore (to their won peril).

I cannot recommend the book highly enough for those wanting to bet on financial markets and/or learn to become a profitable trader. Click on the book image below to be taken to the sales page.
